Snug Cottage is a charming traditional terraced stonebuilt cottage set amidst spectacular scenery with stunning views over Lochranza castle and bay. It is the ideal place for cycling, hillwalking (both easy and difficult) and golf as well as relaxing on the coast and in the countryside.

Comfortable and well equipped, the cottage is double glazed and heated throughout and has a bathroom fitted with bath and shower. The cottage has a double and twin bedroom, both attractively furnished. The spacious and cosy lounge with open coal fire, colour TV and dining area invites quiet relaxation.The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer and all utensils. In addition, there is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Situated a few metres from the shore and with private parking adjacent to the cottage, the cottage is within a very short walking distance from:

  • A golf course which is suitable for families and beginners (5 other golf courses within half hour travel)
  • A hotel that offers quality meals and snacks
  • A bus stop with a good bus service around the island to enjoy its many attractions
  • Available moorings for boats
  • An ancient church with services on a Sunday morning
  • A studio gallery which specialises in Arran landscape in original watercolours
  • A workshop where homemade arts and crafts are made
  • A distillery which holds guided whiskey tours and boasts a high quality restaurant
  • Easy and difficult high and lowland walks
  • Easy and difficult cycling routes along the coastal routes or inland countryside
  • An abundance of wildlife, with deer walking around the bay and on the hills every day and eagles and other birdlife frequently sighted
  • Claonaig ferry crossing to the Mull Of Kintyre (Crossing time 25 minutes)



Snug cottage really is a wonderful place for people who enjoy the outdoors and are looking for a relaxing break. It is also a wonderful base from which to explore the island and visit the many attractions.

The cottage is open all year and welcomes visitors for Easter holidays, school holidays, Christmas and New Year. The rates are based on one week (Sat-Sat) and range from £280 low season to £420 high season.

Guests should also allow for their electricity costs via a £1 coin meter.

Guests are required to bring their own bed linen and towels. However, duvets, mattress protectors and pillows are provided.

Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement. Please note that smoking is not permitted inside the cottage.
